Hey guys! Sam here doing our annual recap. I think we can all agree that 2020 will definitely go down in history. The good, the bad and the ugly. While the focus has been mostly the bad and the ugly, there has been some pretty awesome things that happened this year when we look back.
1. We jumped all in with Showit.
In January 2020, Northfolk went 100% Showit. I’ll save the “how it happened” for another story (it’s pretty good!), but the WHY is very important. It’s no secret around here that we think your website is your most powerful business tool. You should be able to edit, update and manage your own website at all times. Working exclusively with Showit, we KNOW that our clients are able to easily have control over their most important business investment.
2. We earned an all-inclusive trip to Mexico (courtesy of Showit)!
In February we got to spend an absolutely incredibly few days down in Mexico with the Showit team and their TOP 15 designers (including yours truly). This was seriously the highlight of our year. Being able to collaborate and connect with our fellow creatives, hang on the beach, share some awesome meals and tons of laughs.
3. We “mostly” took the year off from client work.
When we kicked off 2020, we were determined to put most of our focus on the template side of our business – and for the most part we did. This break has allowed us to not only work ON our business, but we have been fine tuning all the things so that once we do open our calendar back up to clients, we are a well oiled machine.
4. We were published in the 3rd Edition of Spark
We are three for three on the physical Spark book by Showit. Woohoo!
5. We worked more ON our business than IN our business.
All the serial course takers raise your hands! 🙋🏼♀️ Seriously guys, it got so bad that Rachel banned me from any courses in 2020. When I see something that gives me FOMO, it’s only a matter of a few hours before Im explaining the Paypal receipt in our inbox. To be totally honest, I jump into most of them and realize 5 minutes into it that I know most of the content already… So while we weren’t investing in that format of education, we decided to invest in 1:1 coaching.
Enter the bind blowing, ✨Britney Canidate.✨ You guys, Britney rocked our world! Probably the best investment we have made in our past decade of business. If you have tried all the things to level up, pivot, or scale, and nothing worked… I can’t recommend working with a coach 1:1 enough. And if you need a recommendation, Britney is your girl!
We also met up in Denver, CO this fall to have new branding images done with our girl KaSandra of The Humble Lion. She started as our customer, became our photographer and is now a good enough friend that she can jump into our early morning (still in our PJ’s) Zoom sessions with no warning. Seriously friends – find your tribe and love them hard!
So really, while we can all agree that 2020 has been a doozy in most aspects, it was the start to some life changing shifts around here – that you are about to see in 2021…
So what can you expect from us in 2021?
In 2021, we are launching Revolving Revenue.
We are going all in on this one and Revolving Revenue is going to be our main focus moving forward. We will still be offering templates of course, but the program will be our way of holding your hand and helping you turn your website into a converting machine that works for you 24/7.
In Revolving Revenue you will learn the digital tech skills and strategies to build a website and online ecosystem to run, market and sell templates.
To break it down simply, we are going to help you break through the tech overwhelm to pull together all the working pieces connected to your website. We will be sharing more details over the next few weeks and announcing a launch date after the new year. Whether you use a Northfolk template or not, you won’t want to miss this!!
More templates!
We will be launching new templates, individually (no more huge launches), sprinkled throughout the year! While we have had a fun time in the past, flexing our creative muscles with different styles, our templates from here on out will be very on brand for Northfolk. So if you dig our style, you better check in with us often over on IG so you don’t miss these gems when they drop.
Well friends, that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to come hang out with us over on Instagram where we promise you’ll be seeing a lot more of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
