It’s time to stop Googling:
“How to sell Showit templates”
Custom work comes with a built-in brief. Your client tells you who they are, what they sell, and hands you a full copywriter draft. You ask questions, they answer them — you design against that. Load it into their account — done!
A template gives you none of that. You're designing for someone you'll never talk to, for a business that looks different for every buyer, and it has to work just as well for the next fifty people who buy it.
With a client, delivery is the end. With a template, that's where the work starts — the listing, the checkout, the delivery emails, the support, the part where anyone finds out it exists.
You're not stuck because you can't do it. You're stuck because it's a different job, and nobody handed you a brief for it.
You've built a business that you thought would give you freedom, but you traded one set of handcuffs for another.
You've been doomscrolling in the name of "research" just trying to find a shortcut.
Client work is exhausting, but it's paying the bills! Which means you have no extra time for trial-and-error when building your shop.
You’ve started three templates. You’ve finished none of them, and it's clearly not for a lack of inspiration.
Northfolk has been selling website templates since 2013. Not as a side offer between custom projects. Not as the thing we added when client work got exhausting.
There's no roster of custom clients underneath this quietly paying the bills while we experiment with digital products. Template sales are the whole business.
So everything inside Revolving Revenue is something we're currently doing, currently testing, and occasionally currently getting wrong.
It's also why we rebuilt RR from the ground up. Every lesson had to earn its place, and the test was simple: does this get you closer to building and selling a Showit template? If not, it came out (or went to bonuses).
We don't pretend to have it all figured out — because it's always evolving.
It was like a big peace of mind kinda boost also in the fact that I was overthinking if I was doing things right or if there was this big thing I was missing. Nope, now I can sell with more confidence!

A waitlist collecting names while you build
An audience you can start building from scratch, before you have anything to sell.
Systems quietly collecting your take-my-money-now template customers while you work.
A list you own, instead of renting an audience from an algorithm that changes its mind quarterly.

A finished, tested Showit template ready to sell
This specific template named, scoped and planned page by page. No more starting five and finishing none.
Every font, image and asset sourced and cleared for resale. The licensing part nobody warns you about until it's a problem.
A template designed for resale, which is a different sport than designing for one client who'll never touch it again.

A repeatable path to your next template, and the one after that
This is where we show you our Rinse + Repeat method. What carries forward, what gets duplicated, what actually needs fresh work, and the order to do it in. You'll use the Build & Launch SOP and run it against a template you haven't designed yet.
The first one taught you the process. This is where it becomes a process you own.
You built the shop, the cart, the delivery emails, the system and the list alongside it, none of that gets built again.

I know you're thinking you'll put this on the backburner until you have time. Don't wait, Revolving Revenue makes the whole process easy to follow and I highly recommend!

Launched three months after joining, 100+ templates a year, client work dropped.
Piecing it together from other shops with no clear plan.
“Before Revolving Revenue I was completely lost and overwhelmed. I was piecing together little bits of information from other shops, but didn't have a clear plan or path.
I was confident designing custom websites, but with templates I wasn't really thinking about the end customer who has to DIY it, and what snags they'd hit. RR lays out exactly what problems you'll run into if you don't design differently.
I joined at the end of 2022 and launched three months later. My first year I sold 15 templates. My second year, 30. Now I sell over 100 a year, matching my full-time salary, and I've been able to completely drop client projects.
It's a lot of work up front, but you might as well do it correctly the first time.”

A bestselling template, a new income stream, and still an active member four years on.
Wanted a template shop and didn't know where to begin.
“Before Revolving Revenue I had the idea to launch a template shop but was unsure where to begin. I wanted to do it right from the start.
If I hadn't joined RR I wouldn't have known the difference in selling for retail, and how to think differently when you sell a product over and over again. When you've only done client work, there is so much more you have to think about to ensure a smooth experience for customers.
I designed two templates in RR and they didn't sell. My third one did. My fourth, Covent Garden, became my bestseller and put my shop on the map. It shows that you have to keep testing and keep improving.”

“Northfolk over delivers x 1000 in Revolving Revenue. It's truly such a great course and isn't missing anything. It's all there...plus some. It's an amazing course with so much support, you can tell they care about the success of their students.”
Chelsea Lennox
“Taking Revolving Revenue made me feel excited about my business again! They made everything so actionable that I couldn't NOT start taking steps towards my goal of opening a template shop. A couple months later, and here I am... launching this week.”
Tina Loszewska
“Before, I wasn't sure and felt my design needed work, and now I feel way more confident. Not only in designing but my understanding of a shop and how to sell online. The support is better than any designer group I've ever been part of.”
Rachel is in Colorado with her husband and four girls. Sam is in Alaska with hers and two boys. We have never once shared an office (unfortunately!), which is either a testament to the business model or to our text message habits.
We started for the least glamorous reason there is. Neither of us could take a 9-5 job. Sam was raising her first son while her husband was constantly deployed, with no family nearby. Rachel was newly single with three girls, working client projects until 2am, and the whole plan was work more hours.
So we started Northfolk. Two designers, selling $150 templates, nearly three hundred times on auto-pilot. You do the math.
That was the entire idea. We didn't need more clients. We needed something that didn't stop earning the second we stopped working.
So we built it. And continue to run the same exact shop — that every year looks just a little different...
and real life besties too!

You want a full system already built so you can finally check this off your list.
You're willing to market what you make.
You want a sequence you can run again, without having to re-invent the wheel every time.
